Job Title: Growers’ Advisor (NOC: 2123)

Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full time, Overtime, Day, Evening, Weekend Shifts

Wage Rate: $35.55 – $38.00 hourly, 37.50 Hours per week.

Anticipated Start Date (at the latest in 3 months): As soon as possible.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in agriculture or horticulture or in a related field is required.

Experience: 2-3 years of experience in same field is required.

Languages: English

Job Duties:
• Provide counselling and advisory services to farmers on crop cultivation and fertilization, harvesting, disease prevention, farm management, farm financing, marketing and other agricultural subjects.
• Prepare and conduct advisory information sessions and lectures for farmers and other groups.
• Conduct research, analyze agricultural data and prepare research reports.
• Liaise with researchers, educators and government or business managers on matters pertaining to farming and agriculture.
• Maintain records of services provided and the effects of advice given.

Work site environment: Outdoors, Wet/ damp.
